Shri Shantiniketan Vidhyalay

Shri Shantiniketan Vidhyalay is right in Jhalod, which is in the Dahod district. It’s a fairly straightforward school for the kids who live around here. You won't find any shiny glass buildings or expensive lobby furniture at our place. We have standard classrooms with wooden benches and blackboards that have been used for years. The town of Jhalod is a busy place, and we are just one part of it. Most of our students come from families who have lived in Dahod for generations. We don't spend our time on mission statements or trying to sell the school to people. People know us because we’ve been here, and the kids need a place to go. The daily routine is pretty set. We open up early, the teachers get their lessons ready, and the students file in. There’s always some noise, whether it's the fans humming or the kids playing outside during their break. We have to be careful with our resources, so we fix things when they break instead of buying new stuff. It’s a very hands-on way of running things. Our office is usually full of piles of paper and registers because that’s how we keep track of everything. We don't have a polished corporate look, and we don't want one. It’s just a school in a small town doing what schools do. We keep the doors open, teach the lessons, and wait for the next day to start.
