Shree J N Patel High School

Out in Adas, things move a little slower than in the big cities, and Shree J N Patel High School fits right into that pace. We are located in the Anand district, surrounded by fields and the usual village atmosphere. The school has been standing for quite some time, and it shows in the brickwork and the old trees in the yard. Every morning, the students arrive from all over the local area, some on bicycles and others walking through the lanes. It is a high school, so the kids are a bit older and more serious about their studies, at least most of the time. We have the usual mix of classrooms, a small area for sports, and a staff room where we drink tea and plan the next lessons. It is a straightforward place to work. We don't have any fancy gadgets or expensive decorations; we just have what is necessary for a decent education. Most of the families in Adas know us well, as many of the parents actually came to this same school when they were younger. It creates a nice connection between the generations. We spend our days teaching, grading papers, and making sure the building stays standing for the next group of kids. It is honest work, and we are proud to be part of the daily life here in this corner of Anand. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing for the children.
