Y Linc Academy

You can find Y Linc Academy over on 22 No Phatak Road, right near the Khalsa College area. We are positioned directly opposite the Khalsa College for Women, so the street is always full of students and rickshaws. It’s a very lively part of Amritsar. The academy isn't a massive building, just a decent space where we’ve set up some classrooms. Because we are so close to the colleges, there is a certain energy about the place. I usually have to stand outside for a bit in the morning to watch the traffic before heading in. Inside, the rooms are pretty basic. We have rows of benches and some old-style boards. It gets a bit noisy when the trains go by the phatak, but everyone who lives in this neighborhood is used to that sound. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us managing the day-to-day things like the register and the cleaning. Sometimes we have to move the desks around to fit more people in, especially before exam season starts. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually get our snacks from during the afternoon break. It’s a very local way of running things. We don't spend money on fancy rugs or art; we just keep the place functional for the students who come here after their regular college hours. It’s been our daily spot for a long time now and we like the location despite the noise.
