Vij Commercial College

Vij Commercial College is located at Chowk Hussainpura on Shivala Road in Amritsar. We are right in the heart of the old city, and it is a very busy place to be. The building is an older style with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. We have been here for a long time, teaching things like typing, shorthand, and basic accounting skills. Inside, the rooms are filled with rows of desks and old typewriters, along with some newer computers. It is a mix of the old ways and the new. The traffic outside on Shivala Road is always loud, with rickshaws and motorbikes passing by constantly. We don't have any air conditioning, just big ceiling fans that hum all day long. The staff room is small and usually smells like tea. We keep all our records in big cupboards, and many of the ledgers are written by hand. We don't use any fancy marketing. Most of our students come here because their parents or older siblings studied with us years ago. It’s a very practical place where people come to learn a skill that will help them get a job. We don't have a corporate logo or a mission statement on the wall. We just open the doors in the morning and get to work teaching the students. It is a reliable spot in the neighborhood for anyone who wants to learn.
