Virasat Haveli

You can find our place, Virasat Haveli, out in Manawala. We’re located right near the Delhi Public School, just off the main highway as you’re coming into or leaving Amritsar. The building itself is styled after the old havelis you see in the villages, with a lot of open space and brickwork. We mostly host travelers who are driving along NH-1 and need a place to stop and eat. It’s a family-run operation, so you’ll usually see one of us walking around making sure everything is okay. We do a lot of parties and local gatherings because we have the room for it. It can get pretty loud and busy on the weekends, but that’s just how it goes here. We cook traditional Punjabi food, the kind that fills you up properly. We don't do those tiny portions you see in the city restaurants. It’s a big property, so there’s always something that needs to be cleaned or fixed. We’ve got some old doors and traditional decorations that we’ve collected over time. Our staff comes from the local area, and they’ve been with us for a while. We aren't some big corporate hotel chain. We’re just a local business trying to keep the old style alive while serving good food. If you’re driving past and your stomach is growling, pull in and see us. There is plenty of space to park your car and sit for a while.
