Luvdale School

We've been operating on Loharika Road in Amritsar for a long time. It’s a busy part of town and we’re right there in the middle of it. The school isn't hard to spot. We have a gate and a small courtyard where the kids gather in the morning. Inside, the hallways are usually full of noise between classes. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. Mostly it's just maps on the walls and maybe some old photos of past students. We focus on the basics. Reading, writing, and math are what we spend most of the day on. The teachers are practical people. They don't mind staying late to help a student who is struggling. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for years and people know us. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep going. It’s not a perfect place, but it’s a real one. We know the names of the parents and which kid belongs to which family. That matters more to us than having a shiny new building. We just want to provide a steady place for the kids to come every day. It’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but we’re still here doing the same thing. We just take each day as it comes.
