Guru Gobind Singh Public School

Out on Sarhali Road, that is where you will find Guru Gobind Singh Public School. It is a busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of dust and the sound of horns blowing throughout the day. The school itself sits a bit back from the main pavement, behind the big boundary wall. We have a lot of students who come in from the surrounding villages and the edge of town. The staff here are mostly local folks who have been teaching for many years. We do not have any of that corporate polish; it is more of a family atmosphere where everyone knows everyone else. The mornings start with the sound of the gates being pulled back and the scuffing of shoes on the gravel. We spend a lot of our time just keeping the place running, whether it is fixing a leaky pipe or making sure the benches are straight in the main hall. The playground is a big open space where the wind often kicks up the dirt, but it is good for the kids to have some room to move around. We do not talk much about visions or missions; we just focus on getting the kids through their exams and making sure they behave themselves. It is hard work sometimes, especially when it is really hot out, but it is what we do. People around here know the school well because it has been on Sarhali Road for quite some time now.
