G D Goenka Public School is found right on the National Highway- 1, along the GT Road in Amritsar. Being on the highway makes it very accessible for students coming from different parts of the city and even the outskirts. The school building is quite large and stands out as you drive past. We have plenty of room for all the classes, from the little ones to the senior students. Amritsar can be a very busy and crowded city, so having a bit more space out here on the highway is a good thing. We have the usual playgrounds and a big area for the morning assembly. It’s a very standard school setup with classrooms that have seen many years of use. We don’t have a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about the daily grind of teaching and learning. The teachers come in early to get their rooms ready before the buses start arriving. We have a canteen where the kids get their snacks and a staff room that is usually buzzing with activity. The pin code is 143001, and we are a well-known part of this stretch of the road. We don’t do much in terms of self-promotion; we just let the daily work speak for itself. It’s a normal, busy school where we try to keep things steady for the students, making sure they get their lessons done before they head home on the buses. We also have a small garden area near the front gate.
