We spend most of our time on jaivik sheti, which is just the old way of organic farming without all those chemicals. It is more work sometimes, but we think it is better for the land in the long run. We are a group of farmers who wanted to stick to these traditional ways. Dharni is a beautiful place, but the work is never-ending. We spend our days out in the fields and our evenings talking about how to improve the soil. We don't have any marketing people or fancy brochures. If you want to know about us, you just come to Bijudhvdi and see the fields. We are trying to keep things simple. We share what we know about natural compost and seeds. It is a slow process compared to the modern way, but we are patient. We handle the business side of things from the house. It's not a big corporate operation, just a few of us trying to do right by the earth and our families. We aren't looking for awards, just a healthy crop and a fair price for the hard work we put in every day. Sometimes the rains don't come when they should, but we stay at it anyway. That is how farming goes in this part of the country.
