Maa-Tapti Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are based at Namdev’s place, he’s the son of Poonaji, in Magrademasod. It’s a small area and we are pretty easy to find if you ask around for the Maa-Tapti group. We named the company after the Tapti river because it’s so important to this whole region. We are a farmers producer company, so our day is mostly about agriculture. There isn't a big office building here. We mostly work out of a simple room with some basic furniture. It’s a very local operation. We spend a lot of time sitting on the porch talking about the rains and how the crops are coming along. In Masod, everyone knows everyone else’s business, so we don't need much advertising. People just walk over when they have something to discuss. We handle a lot of the group buying and selling for the local farmers. It is a lot of counting bags and writing in notebooks. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we do a lot of things the old-fashioned way with pen and paper. We don't have any fancy titles or suits. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. It’s a bit dusty, and in the summer it gets really hot, but we like being here. It feels right to be working directly where the food is grown, right in the heart of our own village. We don't worry about the polish, just the reality of farming.
