Over in the Dharni area of Amravati, you’ll find Tapisangam Farmer Producer Company Limited. We operate out of Nikhare Bhokarbardi, and we are usually found near Shri Ganesh Ramharkar’s place. It’s a beautiful part of the country, but farming here takes a lot of effort and a whole lot of patience. We are a producer company, which basically means we are a group of local people trying to make a living off the land together. The Tapi river is nearby, and it shapes a lot of what we do and when we do it. We don't have any polished presentations or corporate talk to give you. We just talk about the soil, the seeds, and the rain. Most of us have been in this village our whole lives, so we know the local conditions better than any outsider ever would. It’s not always easy, especially when prices change or the weather doesn't cooperate with our plans, but we stick together. Our office is just a simple room where we keep our records and meet up to chat. If you come by, don't expect anything fancy or modern. We are just practical people doing practical work. We handle the local crops and try to help each other get through the tough seasons. It’s a slow pace of life in Dharni, but it suits us just fine. We just want to keep the farms going for the next generation of kids. That’s really all there is.
