Shramankur Cultivators Producer Company Limited is based in Ward No. 1 at the Post Surali. We are in the Warud taluka of the Amravati district. It is a very local setup. We don't have a big corporate headquarters. We just have a small place where we meet and manage the business. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the soil and the people well. Shramankur was started to help cultivators in Amravati get a better handle on their business. It is hard to do everything by yourself on a farm. We share the load and help each other out with the selling and the supplies. There is no polish to what we do. It’s just honest work. Sometimes we disagree on things, but we always work it out because we are neighbors. The office is usually busy with someone coming in to report on their fields or to pick up some paperwork. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. Word of mouth is how we get things done. We just want to see the village do well. It takes a lot of effort to keep everything moving, but it’s worth it when the harvest is good. We just keep going, day after day, and try to stay fair. We have an old desk that has been with us since the start and it is where most of the big decisions get made. It’s a bit scratched up but it does the job.
