Samruddh Melghat Farmer Producer Company Limited

The Samruddh Melghat Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at house number 309 in the Chichkheda area. We are right in the middle of Chikhaldara, which is a beautiful but sometimes difficult place to be a farmer. Babbu Thuta Ajneriya is the one who helps keep things moving here. The Melghat region has its own challenges, with the hills and the forests, and getting our crops out to the bigger markets is always a bit of a headache. We formed this group so we could help each other out with those logistics. It’s a lot of work to coordinate everything when people are spread out across different villages. Our office isn't much to look at, just a place where we can sit down and look at the numbers. We talk about the local crops and how the rains are affecting the hillside farms. It’s not like those big companies in the city; we know everyone by name here. Sometimes we have to deal with wildlife or bad roads, which makes everything take twice as long. We don't have any fancy marketing, just the word of mouth between neighbors. We want to see the people of Melghat get more for their hard work. It's about making sure we aren't forgotten up here in the hills. We keep working, season after season, hoping that by sticking together we can make things a little easier for everyone in Chichkheda.
