Orbit Vidarbha Farmer Producer Company Limited is situated in Karpa, which is a small place near Giroli in the Manora area. We are just a collection of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. The office, if you want to call it that, is right there in the village. Most of the time, we are out in the sun anyway, so the address is just where we keep the records. Vidarbha is a tough place to farm sometimes because the rain doesn't always show up when it should. We deal with it one day at a time. We grow what we can and try to find the right people to buy it. It’s pretty straightforward. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. Just us, the tractors, and the dirt. People in Karpa know who we are. We meet up and talk about seed prices or the latest news from the market. It’s a bit dusty and the roads aren't great, but we make it work. Every season brings something different, some good and some bad. We just keep going because that’s what we know how to do. Being part of this group helps us not feel so alone when things get difficult. It’s a local thing, run by local people who actually know what a harvest feels like. We don't need much more than some decent weather and a bit of luck.
