You can find us over at Rathi Nagar in Amravati, at house number seven. We set up this organic producer company because we saw how many folks were getting tired of the old way of doing things with too many chemicals. It’s a quiet enough spot in Amravati, though the office gets loud when all the members show up for a meeting. We don’t have much in the way of decoration. There are some chairs, a desk that wobbles a bit, and a lot of registers filled with notes about soil and crops. It’s just how we do things here. We spend our time figuring out who is growing what and how we can get it to market without losing money. The organic side of it makes everything a bit more complicated with the certifications and all the rules you have to follow. It’s a lot of extra work, but we think it’s worth the trouble. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up and we have to spend the whole weekend catching up. We’re just local people from around the district. Most of us have our own small plots to look after as well. We talk about the weather a lot because it dictates everything we do. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest. We just want to keep the "Lokhit" name going by doing right by the people who joined us in this.
