Krushikavach Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located in Morshi at Vidhale Colony. Sharad Pundlikrao Vidhale’s house is where we keep the records. House 893. It's a group of farmers who wanted to protect what we have. That’s why we picked the name Krushikavach. It’s tough out here. The prices at the mandi are never what you want them to be. We try to group our harvest together. It gives us a bit more pull. We are just regular people from the colony and around. Most of us have been farming for twenty or thirty years. We’ve seen the seasons change. The soil isn't what it used to be. We talk about fertilizers and how to fix the land. It’s a lot of trial and error. We don't have a lot of money for fancy experts. We just listen to each other and see what works. Sometimes it’s a mess but we keep going. The work never really stops. There is always something to fix or plant or harvest. Morshi is known for its oranges and other crops. We are right there in the middle of it. Sharad keeps everything organized at his house. It’s a busy place during the picking season. We have about fifty members now. All of us are just small-time farmers. We don't have a lot of land each. But together it adds up to something. We try to find better ways to sell the fruit. It’s better than being alone.
