Dhamangaon Jaivik Sheti Mission Farmerproducer Company Limited

Over in Dhamangaon Rly, right near the Agri State Bank at House Number 16, is where we keep the office for Dhamangaon Jaivik Sheti Mission Farmerproducer Company Limited. Being so close to the bank is handy for when we have to deal with the finances. We are focused on the organic side of things, which we call jaivik sheti here. It’s a bit of a mission for us because we want to get back to how things used to be done before all the heavy chemicals became common. Amravati has a long history of farming, and we are just trying to keep that going in a healthy way. The railway station is close by, so there is always the sound of trains passing through, which you just get used to after a while. Our days are filled with checking on the compost and making sure the crops are growing right without any shortcuts. We meet at the house to plan out our planting schedules and talk about who is going to take the load to the market. It’s a lot of physical labor and a lot of patience. Sometimes the organic way takes longer, and you lose some crops to bugs, but we think it's the right way to go for the long run. We aren't some big corporation; we are just a group of neighbors who share the same ideas about the land and the food we grow for our people.
