Unnat Seeds

If you go out to Village Kesarpur, you will find Unnat Seeds in the Nemichand Market. It is a rural area, so things move a bit slower here than they do in the city. Our shop is right in the middle of the market where the farmers come to trade. We have a lot of bags of seeds stacked up against the walls. It smells like earth and dried grain inside. The floor is concrete and we try to sweep it every day, but some dirt always finds its way back in. We have a big wooden table where we sit and talk to customers. People usually come in to ask about the different varieties we have for the season. We don't have any computers here; we do all our writing in big paper books with pens. It’s the way it has always been done in Nemichand Market. The shop gets very hot in the summer, so we have a big fan that stays on all day. Outside, you can hear the cows and the tractors passing by on the dirt roads. We know most of the families in Kesarpur because they have been buying from this location for years. We aren't looking to change much. We just want to make sure the bags are full and the customers get what they came for. It’s a simple life out here and the work is steady, even if the building is a bit old.
