Shri Om Giri Int College

If you leave the main parts of Aligarh and head out towards Post Madpur, you’ll eventually find the village of Khurdiya. That is where Shri Om Giri Int College is located. It’s an intermediate college, so we have the older students who are finishing up their school years. The location is very quiet, mostly surrounded by greenery and farmland. It’s a nice change from the crowded city streets. The building itself is simple and spread out over one floor mostly. We have a decent amount of space outside where the students can sit or talk during their breaks. It is a very rural setting, so you might see some local animals walking past the gate now and then. The classrooms are plain with high ceilings to keep things cool. We use regular old chalkboards and the desks are the heavy wooden kind that last forever. Most of our students come from the local families in Khurdiya or the nearby villages. They often cycle here, and you can see a long row of bicycles parked under the trees every day. We don't have a fancy office or a big gate with a security guard. It’s just a community college where everyone knows everyone else. The teachers are part of the local fabric too. We just aim to provide a solid place for the village kids to get their education without having to travel too far away from their homes.
