We are based over in Taharpur, Aligarh. Devi Lal Farmer Producer Company Limited was started because we needed a better way to handle our farming business. Pawan Kumar is the main contact here, but it’s really a group effort. We don't have a big office building; we mostly work out of our homes and the fields themselves. Aligarh is a busy place, but out here in the village, things are a bit more focused on the land. We spend a lot of time talking about seeds, pests, and how the crop is looking. It’s not always easy work, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. We’ve had our fair share of bad seasons, but you just have to keep going. We don't use a lot of big words or marketing talk. We just say things as they are. If the crop is bad, we say it’s bad. If the price is low, we figure out how to deal with it. We’re just a bunch of guys who know how to farm and wanted to organize ourselves a little better. People around Taharpur know us, and we know them. It’s a small community. We just try to be useful and keep the farming tradition going without making things too complicated for ourselves. Every day is different, but the goal is always the same: get the work done and hope for the best for all of us.
