Chengannur Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is based out of Chengannur Taluk, right at Thattupurakkal in Perissery Populiyoor Village. It’s a quiet place, mostly farms and local houses. We started this because the farmers around here needed a better way to sell what they grow without getting lost in the shuffle. It isn't a huge operation with lots of staff. Usually, it's just a few of us sitting around a table at the 2/316 address trying to sort out the logistics for the week. We deal with whatever the local guys are bringing in from the fields. Sometimes it's a lot, sometimes it's quiet depending on the time of year. Farming is messy and the hours are long, so we try to help each other out with the heavy lifting. We’ve all lived here a long time. You get to know every road and every field after a while. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just want to make sure the farming life stays viable for the next generation in Chengannur. The soil here is good if you treat it right. We spend most of our time talking about seeds, weather, and the transport trucks. It's a plain business for plain people. We do the work ourselves, and that’s how we like it. It keeps us busy from sunrise to way past dark. Most of us are more comfortable in the mud than in an office chair, but this is what it takes to keep the place running.
