Saraswathy Lakshmi Agro Productionsprivate Limited operates out of the Brothers Industries site. We share space with the Brothers Oil Mill over in Velanchira, which is near Kayamkulam in Alappuzha. It’s a busy spot with a lot of noise from the machinery sometimes. We mostly deal with agro productions, which involves a lot of sorting, processing, and making sure the quality is okay before anything leaves the gate. Working in an oil mill environment means there’s always a specific smell in the air and plenty of dust. We don’t mind it much because it’s part of the trade. The team here is small, and most of us have been around for years. We know the machines and the local suppliers pretty well. It’s a practical setup, nothing like those modern offices you see in the city. We have our desks near where the actual work happens so we can keep an eye on things. If someone needs to talk to us, they usually just walk into the mill area. We handle a lot of different agricultural items, and each season brings its own set of headaches and successes. Some days we are buried in bags of raw material, and other days we are just waiting for the next load to arrive. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve gotten used to over the time we’ve been here. We just try to get the work done right and keep the mill running smoothly. It's a lot of sweat and effort but it keeps us going.
