Our company, Gramswaraj Samruddhi Agrofarmer Producer Company Limited, is based in Telhara, over in Maratha Nagar at Gordha Wesh. We’re located at Vilasrao Wamanrao Bhamburkar’s place. It’s a local affair, mostly made up of neighbors and fellow farmers from this part of the taluka. We aren’t trying to be anything we’re not. We just wanted a way to organize our farming activities so we aren’t all just struggling on our own. It’s a lot of work, and the rewards aren't always guaranteed, but that’s the nature of agriculture. We spend our days checking the fields and our evenings talking about what needs to happen next. The office is really just a room where we keep our files and meet when we have to. It's not fancy, and we don't have a lot of expensive equipment. We prefer to put our money and time back into the land. Most of the people involved have lived here their whole lives, so we know each other's families and histories. It’s a community effort more than a business in the traditional sense. Sometimes we get things wrong, and the paperwork can be a real mess, but we’re figuring it out. We just want to keep farming and make sure there’s something left for the next generation. It’s a humble setup in Telhara, and we’re okay with that. We just take it one day at a time and see what the season brings for us.
