Swami Mobiles

Our shop is on Station Road. It is right on the Main Road, so there is always a lot of noise from the buses and rickshaws going past. We have been Swami Mobiles for a while now. Most people know where we are. It is not a very big space. We have some glass counters with old phones and new ones mixed together. People come in mostly for repairs. They drop their phones on the road or get water in them during the rain. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter with a magnifying glass. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the dark for a bit talking to whoever is in the shop. It is a local spot. We do not have any fancy signs or air conditioning that works all the time. Just a ceiling fan that wobbles a little. We sell recharges too. It is a lot of small talk with the neighbors. You see the same faces every day. The tea stall guy brings us a glass of chai twice a day. That is usually the highlight. We keep things simple. If we can fix it, we do. If not, we tell them. There is no point in lying about it. The street gets very dusty in the afternoons so we have to wipe the glass every hour. It is just a regular life here on the main road.
