Suraj Telecom

Suraj Telecom is located at number 21 in the Dayanand Market in Kesarganj. It is a tight squeeze in this part of the market, and finding a place to park a bike can be a real headache some days. Our shop is tucked in with a lot of others, but we have been here long enough that people know where to find us. We mostly deal with mobile phones and all the little bits that go with them. The shelves are packed with different types of headphones and plastic cases because everyone wants something different. Sometimes a customer comes in with a phone that has been dropped in water, and we have to tell them honestly if it can be fixed or if it is a lost cause. We spend a lot of time looking at small parts under a desk lamp. The lighting in the market isn't the best, so we have our own extra bulbs. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting for customers, then suddenly five people show up at once and it gets very busy. We usually have a tea around four o'clock from the guy who walks around the market with a kettle. That's the best part of the afternoon. We don't have a big corporate setup, just a simple counter and some tools. We stay open until the market starts to quiet down in the evening and the shop lights begin to flicker.
