Gupta Mobile Repair Center

Gupta Mobile Repair Center is located on Padaw New Cinema Road. It is a small room with a long workbench where we keep all the screwdrivers and soldering irons. There are usually a lot of broken screens and old batteries lying around. People bring in their phones when they drop them or when the charging port stops working. We spend a lot of time looking through magnifying glasses at tiny green boards. New Cinema Road is quite busy, so there is always the sound of cars outside. Sometimes we can't fix a phone if the parts are too old, but we usually try our best. It’s a quiet job mostly, just focusing on the small parts. We don't have a waiting room, so people usually just stand by the counter or come back in an hour. The light in here is very bright so we can see what we are doing. It gets a bit hot in the summer with all the electronics running. We started this because we liked taking things apart to see how they worked. Now it’s just our daily work. We don't do any big promotions, word of mouth is usually how people find us. If a phone is acting up, folks just walk down the road and hand it to us across the glass. It's not a big operation, but we stay busy enough to keep the lights on. Sometimes a customer brings a phone that fell in water and we have to dry it out.
