Amruteshwar Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited

Up here in Shendi, which is near Akole, things are a little bit different than the plains. The air stays fresh and we are surrounded by the hills of the Ahmednagar district. Amruteshwar Agro is our small group of farmers. We live and work right here on this land. Most of us are friends who have known each other since we were in school. Farming in this hilly terrain has its own set of problems. We get a lot of rain sometimes, but other times it feels like it will never rain again. We started this producer company so we could help each other get better quality seeds and tools. It is a completely local effort. We do not have a big staff of employees, just us farmers doing the daily work. You might see us at the local market or up on the hillside with the cattle. We handle whatever crops happen to grow best in this rocky soil. It is not a fancy business with big desks. We keep all our notes in simple paper ledgers. We just want to make sure we can support our families and keep the land healthy. It is honest work under the bright sun. Sometimes we sit together after a long day and talk about what to plant next season. We don't have a mission statement or any of that. We just have crops that need tending to. It is a simple life. We keep moving forward.
