Vishnu Masala

You can find Vishnu Masala at Shop No.24. We are right on the Sarkhej-Bavla Highway, specifically NH 8A in Changodar. We are very close to Hotel Sarvoday, which is where most people look for us. Being on the highway is noisy with all the trucks passing by, but it’s good for business. We get a lot of people stopping in while they are traveling. We started this shop because we knew the area well. It’s not a large place, just enough room for the stock and a counter. We handle different types of masala mixes. We spend our mornings weighing things out and sealing packets. It’s a lot of repetitive work. Sometimes the humidity in Changodar makes the floor a bit sticky, so we are always cleaning. We don't have any fancy awards on the wall. We just have our regular customers who come back every week. We don't spend time on social media or advertising. We just sit here at Shop No.24 and wait for the day to start. It’s a bit loud with the highway traffic, but you get used to it. We keep things straightforward. If we have it, we sell it. If we don't, we tell you when it’s coming. That's the way we've always done things. The highway gets dusty so we keep the front of the shop closed. It gets a bit stuffy inside but it's better than the grit getting into everything. We have a small kettle in the back for making tea when there is a break in the traffic. We don't have employees, just me and my son mostly. We handle everything from the cleaning to the selling ourselves.
