Suruchi Spices Pvt Ltd is at 55/1, right near the Umiya Industrial Estate. Being this close to an industrial hub means there’s a lot of traffic and the general bustle of other businesses around us. Our place is essentially a large grinding and packing facility. The smell is the first thing anyone notices when they walk in. It’s a mix of all kinds of spices, and it can be quite overwhelming if you’re not used to it. The walls are a bit stained from the spice dust, and the floors are hard concrete that we have to wash down regularly. We don't have a fancy office for meetings or a reception area. Our desks are right there in the middle of things, surrounded by bags of raw materials and finished packets. It’s a noisy, dusty environment because of the heavy grinders running all day. We wear basic work clothes because anything else would just get ruined. Most of our staff has been with us for years and they know the smells of the different spices by heart. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. We just spend our hours making sure the machines are working and the spice blends are coming out right. It’s a lot of hard, physical work and we just focus on getting through the daily production list without any unnecessary complications.
