Garud Cement Products

Down here at Plot No. 76 in Phase-1 of the GIDC in Vatva, we do things a bit differently. Garud Cement Products is all about heavy lifting and grey dust. Since we are in the industrial estate, we are surrounded by all kinds of factories, from chemicals to steel. It’s a busy place with a lot of energy. We spend our mornings mixing and pouring. Cement is heavy and it doesn't wait for you, so you have to be quick. Our yard is usually full of finished products drying in the sun. We have to keep a close eye on the weather; a sudden rain can mess up a whole day's work. The staff here is a mix of young guys and some who have been doing this for decades. We talk about normal things, like the local cricket matches or how the traffic was coming into Vatva this morning. The machines are old but they work fine as long as you treat them right. We don't have a marketing team or anyone in a fancy office. If you call, one of us will just pick up the phone from the workshop floor. We like the grit of the GIDC. It feels like real work. We finish the day tired and covered in dust, but the products are solid and they leave on the trucks every morning. It's just what we do here in this part of Ahmedabad.
