Pacific Food & Spices

Pacific Food & Spices is based at Plot No:2A on Gopal Street, which sits in Ganapathy Nagar in the Madampakkam area. Our place usually has a strong scent of whatever spices we happen to be packing that day, which is quite nice most of the time. We aren’t some giant factory; it’s just a local operation where we do things by hand. A lot of our time is spent weighing out portions and filling bags. Sometimes the labels don't go on perfectly straight, but that's just how it goes when you're busy. Gopal Street is a bit quieter than the main roads, so it’s easier for us to move goods in and out. The inside of the shop is filled with shelves, jars, and heavy sacks. When we move the bigger bags of powder, the dust can make everyone sneeze for a bit. Madampakkam is a friendly enough place, and we know many of the other folks working on this street. We don’t spend any money on fancy decorations or big signs. It is just a practical workspace for sorting and packing food items. We have a small crew, and everyone knows their specific job. Some days the heat makes the work feel a bit slower, but we just keep at it until the orders are ready. It’s a steady, repetitive rhythm, but it works for us. We just try to keep everything clean and get the bags out on time.
