We are located at Plot A-17 in the Old Gunj Bazar area. It is right near Khadia. The neighborhood is always busy with people and carts moving around. My family has been running this spice place for a good while now. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a shop and some storage space where we keep the bags of raw spices. We spend our days sorting through cumin, turmeric, and dried chilies. It can get quite dusty in here when we are moving the sacks around. Sometimes we have to wear cloths over our faces to keep the pepper out of our noses. My brother helps with the heavy lifting because my back isn't what it used to be. We have some old scales that we use to weigh everything out. They are reliable enough for what we do. The smell of the spices stays on your skin and clothes even after you go home. My wife says she can always tell when I’ve had a busy day. We just try to provide what the local shops need. We don't do much advertising. People just know we are here by the smell in the air. The building is made of old concrete and it stays fairly cool even when the sun is out. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit on the steps and talk to the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s a simple way to make a living.
