If you know Ahmedabad, you know how crowded and lively Ratanpole is. It is one of those old parts of the city where the lanes are narrow but full of energy. Our office is tucked away in the pole. It is an old building but it has character. We have been here for years. The sounds of the market are always in the background. You hear people bargaining and carts moving on the cobblestones. It is a far cry from the modern buildings on SG Highway. We like it here though. Everything is close by. We get our tea from the same guy for years. The address sounds complicated but once you are in Zaverivad, most people can point you to Ambli Pole. It is a tight squeeze if you are trying to bring a big vehicle in here. Most of us just walk or use two-wheelers. The office itself is full of samples and ledgers. We don't have a lot of empty space. We use every corner we have. It is a traditional way of working that hasn't changed much. We know all the neighbors around us. It feels like a big family in this part of the city.
