Mahalaxmi Maize Products

Up on the second floor of B G Tower, you will find the office for Mahalaxmi Maize Products. We are in unit C/69, and it’s a pretty standard space with desks, some chairs for visitors, and samples of maize products sitting around. Being on Shahibaug Road means there is a lot of noise from the cars and rickshaws outside, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Most of our day is spent on the phone talking to suppliers or coordinating where the next batch of corn-based goods is supposed to go. We don't have a big fancy showroom because that’s not really how we work. Instead, we focus on the paperwork and making sure the grain quality is what it should be. The elevator in the building can be a bit slow in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to work, so some of us just take the stairs to the second floor. We have a small kettle for tea, and that’s usually going for most of the afternoon. It is just a few of us here handling the administrative side of things, making sure the orders for the factories and distributors get processed without too many mistakes. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three phones ring at once, but we manage. It’s been our home base for quite a while, and we like being in this part of the city.
