Kothari Spices

Kothari Spices is situated at Door No-1465 in the New Madhupura area. We are right opposite the Delhi Darwaja, so it’s a very historic part of the city. Because we deal with spices, you can usually smell our shop before you even see the sign. It’s a strong mix of chili, turmeric, and all sorts of other things that get into your clothes by the end of the day. The building is quite old and the entrance is always crowded with sacks waiting to be moved. New Madhupura is a tight squeeze for vehicles, so there’s always a bit of shouting and horn-honking outside. Inside, it’s a bit dark but we know where everything is. We have been at this location for a long time, and the wooden counters are worn smooth from years of use. We don’t do things in a very modern way; we still use old scales for a lot of stuff. It’s a hands-on job, and your hands will definitely get stained if you stay long enough. We don’t have any promotional brochures. If someone wants to know about our spices, they just have to take a sniff and look at the quality themselves. It’s a busy, dusty, and fragrant life here near Delhi Darwaja. We just keep the shop open and serve whoever comes through the door.
