Working out of Sumel Business Park near the New Cloth Market in Ahmedabad is pretty hectic. Our office for Bashukinath Textile Mills Llp is on the second floor, unit B/76. If you know this area, you know how the traffic gets around the cloth market. It’s a lot of energy and sometimes a lot of frustration trying to find a parking spot. Inside the business park, it’s a bit more organized, but still very busy. We have a lot of fabric rolls coming through here every single day. The mill work is constant, and there’s always a list of things that need to be checked. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just functional shelves and a few sturdy tables for sorting. The staff here has been together for a while, so we all know the routine without having to say much. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon slump. Sometimes the power goes out for a second and we all just wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just the reality of running a mill operation in this part of town. We handle the textiles, get them packed up, and send them off. It’s a simple cycle that keeps us all employed. The view from the window is just more buildings and more trucks, which feels right for what we do. It’s honest work and we just get on with it.
