Shivani Travels

Shivani Travels started out at house number 3-107/1 in Kishtampet. It's just a small spot in Chennur mandal. We keep the vehicles parked out front near the entrance. It gets very dusty on this road. My brother and I handle most of the driving ourselves. We know every pothole in this area by heart. People call us when they need to get to the railway station or a family wedding. Sometimes the phone rings at 3 am for an emergency trip. It’s hard to stay awake at that hour but that’s the way the job goes. The roads around here aren't always great, especially during the rains when the mud gets deep. We try to keep the tires in good shape to avoid trouble. It’s not a big fancy office with a receptionist. It is just a desk and some old chairs where we sit and wait for the next call to come in. Some days are very busy and we don't have time to eat. Other days we just sit under the tree and talk. We've been doing this for a long time now. Most people in the village know exactly where we are located. We don't have a big sign out front, just the house. It's quiet here mostly. We just focus on getting people where they need to go without making any fuss. The cars are getting older but they run well enough. Most of our time is spent right here.
