Jagadamba Earth Movers

We have been operating Jagadamba Earth Movers out of our house at H No 7-40 in Kalva Thanda for a while now. Most people around Dilawarpur know us because of the big yellow machines parked nearby. It started with just one backhoe and we just kept going from there. The ground around here is pretty tough, especially when it hasn't rained in months, so the machines take a real beating. My hands are usually covered in some kind of oil or grease by the time lunch rolls around. It’s not fancy work at all. We mostly handle digging for foundations or clearing out old plots for people in the village. Sometimes we have to drive the equipment quite a distance down those narrow roads to get to a site. It’s loud and dusty, but that is just the nature of earth moving. My wife helps with the paperwork at the kitchen table when she has a spare minute. We don't have a big office or anything, just the space in front of the house and some tools in the shed. People usually just walk over or send a message when they need something done. It gets hot out there in the sun all day, but seeing a trench finished right is a good feeling. We just try to get the work done as it comes in and keep the equipment running for the next day.
