Jag Jivan Das Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Sangrampur, specifically at Sanjay Singh’s place. If you know the area, it isn’t hard to find us. We’ve been working with the agro side of things for a while now because that is what everyone around Sangrampur does. It is a lot of talk about soil, water, and when the best time to get the seeds in the ground might be. Sanjay’s house is where we keep all the records and where the meetings happen when we need to decide on something important for the group. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't, just a bunch of people looking out for the local producers. Some days are slow and we just sit around and plan for the next month, but other days it is non-stop with people coming in and out. The walls are covered in calendars and maps of the local plots. It’s not the most modern setup you’ll ever see, but it works for us and the people we serve. We know most of the farmers by name because we grew up right here with them. It feels more like a community project than a company most of the time. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing, making sure the agro side of Sangrampur stays moving forward as best as it can. There is always something new to learn about the land.
