The Andhra Surgars Limited

Out here in W.G. Dist, things move at their own pace. Our Chemical & Fertilizers Division is a big part of the landscape. It’s a lot of pipes, big tanks, and the sound of heavy equipment running twenty-four hours a day. You can see the steam rising from the stacks from a good distance away. The Andhra Sugars Limited has been part of this area for a while, and most of the people working here live just a short ride away. The ground is often covered in a bit of dust from the raw materials we handle. It's hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on the metal structures. We wear our uniforms and just get on with the day’s tasks. There is a lot of checking gauges and making sure everything is flowing through the pipes correctly. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. We deal with fertilizers and chemicals that farmers need, so there is always a sense of just doing what needs to be done. Lunchtime is when everyone gathers in the shade to get a break from the noise. The machinery is old in some spots and brand new in others, which makes for an interesting mix. We aren't trying to be anything other than a solid industrial plant that keeps running day in and day out, regardless of the heat or the rain. Some days are tougher than others, but we just keep the production lines moving as best as we can.
