You can find our workshop over in the Jhatikra Maqsudabad area of Najafgarh. We spend most of our time working with our hands, creating different kinds of handicraft items. It is a bit out of the way, but that gives us the space we need to store our raw materials and have a proper area for making things. The air in our shop is often filled with the smell of wood or whatever materials we happen to be using that week. We do not have a flashy showroom; it is more of a practical place where the actual work gets done. Our days usually start early, checking on the pieces we finished the day before to see if they have dried properly. There is always a bit of a mess around the place—wood shavings, bits of fabric, or various tools lying on the workbenches. We take care with the things we put together, even if it takes a while to get a single piece right. People from the nearby villages and sometimes from further into Delhi come out here to see what we have been making. It is a quiet part of Najafgarh, which suits our way of working just fine. Sometimes we struggle with getting the right supplies delivered on time, but we manage. We aren't a big factory. It is just us working on these crafts and trying to make things that look decent and are built to last. It is simple work, but it keeps our hands busy and the shop running every day.
