Our place, United Metaltek Pvt. Ltd., is tucked away in West Patel Nagar at 6/20. It’s a busy part of the city, and the street outside is almost never quiet. We have our setup here where we deal with all the metal work that comes our way. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and the sound of machines running for most of the day. The air usually smells a bit like iron and oil, which is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We aren't some big, polished firm with a glass front and a receptionist. It’s more of a place where you’ll find us in our work clothes, probably with some grease on our hands. The space gets a bit hot in the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and keep moving. We’ve stayed in West Patel Nagar because it’s central enough for people to get to us, even if parking on the street can be a real headache sometimes. Most of our day is spent checking measurements and making sure the machines are behaving. It’s practical, honest work. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we absolutely have to for an order. Mostly, we are just on the floor getting things sorted. It’s a humble operation, but we’ve been at it long enough to know the rhythm of the place and how to get the metal pieces finished on time.
