We have been operating out of 33/78 in Punjabi Bagh for a good many years now. If you walk past our place, you will mostly hear the sound of grinders and the smell of welding. It is not a very fancy setup, just a workshop where we put together steel windows day in and day out. Some days the heat in the shop gets pretty bad, especially when the machines have been running since eight in the morning. We spend a lot of time measuring things and then cutting the steel to size. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the trucks get stuck in the local traffic near the market area, which is always a bit of a headache for us. There are about five of us here doing the actual work. We don't really have a big office or anything like that. Just a small desk where we keep the ledgers and handle the phone calls. Most people who come to see us are from around the neighborhood or contractors we have known for a long time. It gets quite dusty with all the metal shavings, so we try to sweep up at the end of the day, but it never really stays clean for long. That is just how it goes when you work with steel. We just keep our heads down and get the orders done as they come in. It is honest work and it keeps us busy enough throughout the week. We usually wrap things up around six in the evening.
