Mahadevi Steel And Alloy Traders is on the first floor of the G.P. Complex. We are in Block No-D, which is part of the Fateh Nagar area. Being upstairs means we don't get as much walk-in traffic as the shops on the ground floor, but our regulars know exactly where to go. The complex itself is quite busy with various types of businesses all packed together. We deal with steel and different kinds of alloys, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting involved when we get new stock. The office room is where we spend most of our time, keeping track of the orders and talking to the suppliers. It can get a bit hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building. We have a couple of old chairs for visitors and a desk that is usually covered in papers and samples of metal. It is not a corporate setup by any means. We are just a local trading outfit trying to do things right. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we have to use the stairs, which is quite a workout. We’ve been in Fateh Nagar for a while and have seen the area change quite a bit. Despite the changes, our daily routine remains pretty much the same: check the stock, call the clients, and manage the transport. We just keep our heads down and get the work done.
