G. R. Moulds

G. R. Moulds is located in Phase-2 of the Mayapuri Industrial Area, at C-164. If you’ve ever been to Mayapuri, you know it’s a place where things get built and torn apart every day. Our workshop is full of heavy iron and steel. We make moulds for various industries. It’s a dirty job, and our clothes are usually stained with grease and soot by the end of the shift. The machines we use are loud and take up a lot of space. We’ve got a small team of skilled workers who know exactly what they’re doing. There’s no manual for half the things we do; it’s all from experience. The floor is covered in metal shavings and we have to sweep it constantly. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter because the building isn't insulated. We don't mind it much. We’ve been here for quite a while now. The office is just a tiny corner with a desk and a couple of chairs. We mostly use it for keeping the blueprints. People come to us when they need something specific made. We don’t do any advertising. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. It’s a tough environment, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished mould. Mayapuri is a rough-and-tumble place, but it’s where we belong. We just keep the machines running and the work flowing.
