Dk Steel Traders

Dk Steel Traders is a small shop, number 28, over in Garhi Chowkhandi. We are part of the Satbhawan Market. It’s a tight space, but we manage to fit a lot of steel in there. The market is always crowded with people and bikes. You have to be careful when you’re moving long pieces of steel out to the street so you don't hit anything. We spend most of our time dealing with walk-in customers. It might be someone needing a small piece for a repair or a contractor looking for a few bundles. The shop is basically one big room with steel stacked up to the ceiling in some places. It’s a bit dark inside, but we know where everything is kept. Garhi Chowkhandi has a lot of energy. There is always someone shouting or a horn honking nearby. We’ve been in Satbhawan Market for a while now. We know the other shopkeepers, and we usually share a cup of tea in the afternoons when things slow down. The work is heavy and your back definitely feels it by the end of the day. We don't do anything complicated. We just sell steel and try to keep our records straight. It’s a simple business. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop and our regulars. Most days are about managing the space we have.
