Down in Uttam Nagar, Delhi, you will find our College Of Art. It is not some grand museum, but a place where people actually get their hands dirty with paint and clay. We are tucked into the neighborhood here, and the vibe is pretty laid back compared to the rest of the busy city. You walk in and see sketches pinned up or half-finished sculptures sitting in the corners. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a big reception desk. Instead, it’s mostly stools and tables that have seen a lot of use. The students come from all over Delhi, taking the metro or buses to get to this part of Uttam Nagar. It gets a bit crowded, especially when everyone is rushing to finish a project before a deadline. We try to keep the supplies stocked, but sometimes things run out and we have to wait for the next delivery. It’s just a real place for people who like making things. The light in the studios is okay, and we spend most of our time just working through different techniques. There is always the smell of turpentine or wet clay in the air. We don't really do the whole corporate image thing. We are just a local art school where you can come and learn how to draw or paint without people judging your style too much. It's a bit messy, but that's how art happens. We think that being right here in the middle of Uttam Nagar gives it a real-world feel.
