Sardana Art Centre is tucked away at Wz-12 in Hind Nagar, right on Chaukhandi Road in Tilak Nagar. If you walk in, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of materials. We deal with a lot of different art projects, so there is always some kind of glue, paint, or wood around. It’s more of a workshop than a quiet office. There are tables everywhere covered in projects that are half-finished. We have shelves reaching up to the ceiling filled with supplies we’ve collected over the years. The building itself is a bit older, so it has its share of leaks and creaky floors. We’ve been here for a long time, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us. Tilak Nagar is always buzzing, especially the market area near us. Sometimes the noise from Chaukhandi Road is a bit much, but we just turn up the music and keep going. We are a small team and most of us have been working here for over a decade. We don’t really have formal titles or anything like that. Everyone just knows what they need to do. We usually have a bit of a mess going on, especially when we are in the middle of a big order. It’s an honest way to make a living, working with our hands and seeing things take shape. We aren't trying to be some high-end gallery; we’re just a local art centre doing our thing every day.
