Apna Welding Works

My workshop is located in Gali No 11, specifically at Shop No Wz/139/4A in New Mahavir Nagar, near Tilak Nagar. It is a gritty place, full of iron rods, welding machines, and the constant smell of burnt metal. We do all sorts of odd jobs here. If someone has a broken gate or needs a metal frame made for their window, they bring it to us. The floor is always covered in iron scraps and dust, no matter how much we sweep at the end of the day. It is loud because of the grinding and the sparks flying everywhere, so I usually wear my old mask most of the day. My hands are always stained with grease and soot. It is hard work, especially in the summer when the heat from the welding torch makes the whole shop feel like an oven. We do not have a fancy office. There is just a small wooden desk in the corner where I keep the bills and a few tools. People from around Tilak Nagar know they can just drop by with whatever needs fixing. Sometimes we have to go out to people's houses if the job is too big to move to the shop. It has been this way for years. I learned the trade from my father, and now I am doing it here in this little alley. It is not a glamorous job, but there is something satisfying about joining metal together.
