Our company is run through Dinkar Bargaje’s place in Bharadkheda, which is part of the Badnapur area in Jalna. It’s a rural spot where everyone knows everyone else. We started this because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are sold. The office is really just a part of the house where we keep the folders and the computer. Most of our members are farmers from right here in Bharadkheda. We spend our days out in the dirt, so when we come into the office, we’re usually pretty tired. There’s a lot of paperwork with these producer companies, more than we expected when we started. We try to keep up with it as best as we can. Badnapur is a good place for farming, but it has its challenges like anywhere else. When the harvest is ready, this place gets very hectic. People are coming and going with their tractors and carts. We have meetings under the big tree outside when the weather is nice because it’s cooler than being inside. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time and people trust us. We're just trying to make sure our families are taken care of through the land we work. There is always a lot of mud on the boots when the guys come in to sign their papers, but that is just farming life.
